Here are what some of our clients are saying about us.
I had no previous knowledge of or recommendation to choose Masonry & Lime to work on my home but was highly impressed by their professional, caring and sympathetic understanding of what was needed when we met to discuss the repair and replacement masonry works. The stone work completed on my chimneys was wonderfully done. I was so pleased with Masonry & Lime’s approach and manner from this work that I immediately commissioned them to re-point the ashlar frontage of my home. I thought that their pricing was well explained and reasonable for such excellent craftsmen. I intend to have Masonry & Lime work on my home in the future and can recommend them without hesitation.
The work shows real craftsmanship and care, as we hoped it would. Attention to details such as replacement of guttering and work around windows is evident. The overall look of the work is really good and enhances the cottage.
Since taking on our renovation project in the Scottish Borders we have had a real struggle to find tradesmen that we feel able to work alongside whilst also having the necessary experience of working with traditional materials and techniques. However, we have been exceptionally lucky in finding Masonry & Lime who are experts in some big areas of our project, namely lime harling and lime plastering. Whether it was at the planning stage, helping with queries, the level of workmanship on site or the finished result they could not have been more helpful and diligent. We are really pleased with the end result, safe in the knowledge that we can call Hans or Andy at any point should we have further questions. We even had a visit from Historic Scotland recently and they said that the harling was amongst the best they’d ever seen!
We were very pleased with the result, and also very happy with your guy’s professional approach. It was nice to have workmen in who cleaned up after themselves and treated our property with respect – more than can be said of some others who have been working for us just recently! The job was a little more involved than we had anticipated, so it’ll be a while before we can do the other parts of the house. But rest assured we will be in touch once we get around to it. Many thanks.
The personal approach that Hans, Andy and their team provide is second to non. The attention to detail along with their technical knowledge has resulted in many completed projects, finishing on time and budget- to a perfect standard. Importantly within this industry they are also fully trustworthy and are great communicators- so if they say they are going to do something they will- and on time! We have thoroughly enjoyed working together with Masonry and Lime on both my own house and clients, and would not hesitate to recommend them
As usual your team did an exceptional job, I’m more than happy with their work. You have a bunch of extremely conscientious workers. Please pass on my appreciation.
We have continued to use Masonry & Lime since they first started for all our restorations and repair work as we find them excellent to talk to and to work with. Being true professionals they always deliver excellent quality work, on time, and on budget.
The instruction and training Masonry and Lime has provided to those attending the Scottish Traditional Skills Training Centre’s Courses in the Use of Lime Mortar has consistently been to an extremely high standard. This is confirmed by not only the detailed assessment forms completed by all who have attended the Courses, but also the subsequent feedback we have received from many of the delegates who have received their training – delegates which range from Architects, Planners and staff of leading Conservation Organisations from throughout Scotland, through to private property owners and Construction Industry Professionals. In addition to the outstanding technical skills and experience they possess, the staff of Masonry and Lime also have a detailed understanding of the specific requirements necessary in order to effectively and efficiently meet the conservation, repair and maintenance needs of a wide range of traditional buildings.
