Masonry & Lime Ltd is based in Elgin and offers specialist traditional masonry services covering the whole of Scotland. The company is run by Hans Norling who has over 20 years experience in the industry.
Alongside running Masonry and lime Hans has been a lecturer on the course “Working with lime mortar on traditional buildings” for the Scottish Traditional Skills Training centre between 2011 until the centre closed in 2019. Hans has also delivered training for other organisations, for example Frew Conservation, Perth & Kinross Heritage Trust, Scottish Prison Services and DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray and been to primary and secondary schools in Moray to deliver training to pupils. Private clients have also employed the company directly to get trained in the use of lime mortar on traditional buildings. As well as Being invited to share his knowledge of Lime and the industry in talks for Aberdeenshire council and Moray college. Most recently hosting a online lecture for Aberdeen City Heritage Trust Called, Conservation in traditional masonry- the practitioners perspective (April 2022).
